How to get in top ten of google search results?..... This first post of the gettingingoogle blog assumes you already have a website online, but can't seem to appear in your keyword searches in google yahoo, aol msn live search and company. This is because having a good domain name and being online does not mean that you will be visited and recognized by the search engines. If you don't wish to spend a large sum of money paying someone to do this optimization for you, and wish to get in the "Google Charts top ten" , then all you have to do is simply follow the things i shall indicate in this post. I guarantee you that if you do these things, you shall arrive in the first page results of google search for your chosen three search words (main keywords).

Keywords

firstly you have to consider what keywords you are going to use... Many people decide their keywords before the creation of the content of the website. For example if you had a restaurant serving italian food with live classical music you might be able to call it figaro.com for a domain name.
So what keywords would you think are important for such a domain name and type of business (this is what you have to consider to understand your choice of keywords properly)?
If you want people looking for an Italian restaurant or simply a restaurant with live music then you may not need the word "Figaro" as a keyword... how many people interested in the word figaro will be looking for an Italian Restaurant? and how many people on the www will be searching fo italian restaurants not using the word Figaro at all?
the latter case is obviously the greater number of people.
So what may be recommendable is to use a keyword that attracts people interested in your product or info that you are presenting.
Don't forget that ten interested visitors will bring more sales or positive results than 100 people who accidentally land on your website but actually were looking for something else.
This is called matching your marketing to your optimization methods, and the choices and decisions you take and make should be related to what your objective is.
This is why there is no real single method to easily "trick" the search machines into considering you favourably in their rating methods.
The reaon i put the word trick in "" ditto marks is that there is no "trick" really.. the only trick to really obtaining a successful website is to get a high ranking through original quality and topic-related (true to the topic) text content.
The website must offer interest to the public too as if a thousand people a day land there only to find some tricky dicky dishonest kind of cash swindle then they won't return and you will only acheive infamy.
So to be concise again;
Whatever your keywords should be, the content text in the body should have a well balanced quantity of those keywords occuring regularly in the body text.
Especially at the beginning and end of the page.
if the main keyword is the first and last word on the page that is optimal too.
I personally decide what i am going to write in the body first, then i make the title of page and keywords after.
This is because it is easier to find the most recurring words ion the text then use those as my keywords.
If i want to attract people for a certain keyword then i make a special page especially written to attract attention to the search engines for that word.
for example on my website sak-yant.com i noticed that the keyword "Buddhist tattoos" brought me no search results..so i made a page with title , keywords, and content containing the word "Buddhist tattoos" in different variations.
alt texts for images were also labeled with titles such as buddha tattoo, or buddhist tattooing.
i then waited 3 days and then made a search for the words "Buddhist tattoos"
at that time i was number one in yahoo and number 4 in google on the search results.

So it is evident that you should either write yoour text content thinking about what keywords you wish to use.In order to think about wwhat kerywords to use i recommend trying to think what words you would use to search for an italian restaurant, try with and without live band included in the search (marketing says that someone searching for one with live music will not go to a restaurant without a band, but a customer searching for just a restaurant may indeed be enchanted upon discovering one that has live music) - catch both search options.

Marketing method is important to take into consideration.
If you ask friends, family, your kids to do some www searches for you on italian restaurants and restaurants with live music and take note of what words they use to search with.
It is important to study which words different people use to search with.
If your website is already online, then you can make an account with google and sign up fopr their webmaster tools.
This is important to do as you can then verify your site with google and get your whole site mapped by their search engine (i shall explain how to do this with yahoo amd msn later too).
Also once on your control panel and once verified, you can check which keywords and search terms have been used to arrive at your site with and see how you ranked!
This is an essential bit of free knowledge from the ever improving webmaster tools from Google.
This will help you to understand what terms people are using to find you and which terms arent working.
I normally then retouch my optimization and tailor my keywords and content text according to what terms i feel are the most used (the google webmaster tools tell you this too).
